Unflattening has been released into the wild! Copies have surfaced – and I’m itching to see mine!

Last week, it got its first review from Publishers Weekly and a Starred Review at that! A little excerpt: “Sousanis has made a profound contribution to the field of comics studies and to semiotics, epistemology, and the burgeoning study of visible thinking. Essential reading for anyone seeking to create, critique, or consider the visual narrative form.”

I also had a lengthy interview in Inside Higher Ed Interview: Seeing in New Dimensions.

This week, I’m on the road to New Orleans for the National Art Education Association annual conference this week.

Thursday morning 3/26, I’m presenting on the work on the session:

Research Works-in-Progress: Questioning the Answers
Thurs 3/26 11:00 am-12:20 pm
Convention Center/Meeting Room R02/Second Level

And Saturday, 3/28, I’m part of a panel:

Emergent Aesthetics: Image and Text in Arts-Based Research
Saturday 3/28, 12-12:50pm
Convention Center/Meeting Room 222/Second Level

Also, the dissertation version of Unflattening received a runner-up award for the Elliot Eisner Doctoral Research Award in Art Education – this will be acknowledged on Thursday at 4pm, in the Convention Center/Meeting Room 206/Second Levels

Attendees at any of my talk will receive a free mini-comic/excerpt of Unflattening! Or seek me out at the conference. – Nick
